Percy Jackson was a normal boy, living a normal life, until he vaporized his math teacher. Soon after, he discovers he is a demigod: born from both a Greek god and a human.

Percy needs to undertake a perilous quest to the Underworld with friends Annabeth and Grover

to retrieve the stolen weapon and free his mother. Few people have returned alive form the Underworld, and no one in history has freed anyone from the Underworld. Will Percy be the first?

Personally, I think this book will be awesome if you are interested in Greek gods. There are a few fun facts here and there about ancient myths, which is quite interesting! There are 4 other books and a few side books. Percy is also in another series: "Heroes of Olympus". Read other series written by Rick Riordan if you want to know other characters' adventures with different gods!
