It is about a boy named Harry Potter whose parents were killed by Lord Voldemort, an evil dark wizard. Harry was left with his rather unpleasant Uncle Dursley, Aunt Petunia, and cousin Dudley.

When it is time for Harry to go to Hogwarts, the school for wizards and witches, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Dursley do not want him to go. A half-giant called Hagrid finds Harry and brings him to Hogwarts. Harry is very happy there, and makes a few friends.

He is sorted into the house Gryffindor and finds out that he is super famous. After a flying lesson that went slightly haywire, he is put into the Gryffindor Quidditch team, being the youngest player in about a century.

Later on in the book, he discovers something is up with Professors Quirrell and learns about the Sorcerers Stone and finds out more.

Throughout the series, Harry fights with Lord Voldemort, who is very much alive. He joins The Order of The Phoenix, and creates Dumbeldore’s Army.

In the last book, Voldemort has taken over The Ministry of Magic, and is in control of the world. Harry, Ron and Hermione have to destroy all seven Horcruxes and defeat Voldemort, all without Dumbledore’s help. It is a very difficult and treacherous mission, but they persevere and continue. (I won’t say any more I don’t want to give spoilers!)
