Andrea's Take
This is 10 year old Lina Gao's first time seeing her parents and sister in 5 years. Finally, they think she is ready to join the fabulous life she's been informed via postcards.
Except, it isn't really true.
Speaking English is hard. So hard that when the class laughs at her mispronouncing some words, she decides not to speak. Ever again.
Millie, Lina's sister, seems to do everything better then Lina, even know the way to her parents' hearts.
Because of the pandemic, they owe a lot of back rent. And paying it with bath bombs? It sure doesn't sound achievable.
Will Lina be able to fix her problems?
This is an awesome book! I especially love the part at the end. Whenever you need a helping hand, just grab this book of the shelve and start reading. Kelly Yang has also written another book in the series called "Finally Seen". Check it out too!
